Did You Know?

Here on campus, MSU students are afforded a great deal of opportunities for assistance. With 8 free visits to the MSU Counseling Center and mental health professionals on campus, students are able to talk about the stresses of life, the problems they are experiencing, and how they are affected academically, socially, physically and emotionally. If you are looking for more information on the Counseling Center please follow the below link to the Counseling Center website. If you have ideas on how to bring these topics to a discussion, or have an idea on how to promote a healthy mind, please feel free to contact the Director of Health and Safety.

Cold and Flu Packs

RHA, in partnership with Olin Health Center, provides Cold and Flu packs to students each year. These illness survival kits have included tea, disposable thermometers, Tylenol cold and flu pills, and information on differentiating between a common cold, the influenza virus and meningitis. In general, it is difficult without tests to show whether or not you have a cold or the flu, so the best advice is to see your physician at the onset of symptoms. Flu symptoms are generally more intense and prolonged than a cold. Whatever your ailment may be, RHA is there for you with Kleenex and Tylenol to help ease your discomfort. If you have ideas or suggestions for the contents of these Cold and Flu packs, please feel free to email the Director of Health and Safety.

World Aids Day

World Aids Day is the first day of December each year. The day is dedicated to raising awareness of HIV/AIDS. In the past, Olin Health Center and RHA have sponsored talks on the subject from the Lansing Area Aids Network and tied red ribbons on each tree along Farm Lane. World Aids Day is important to help spread knowledge of the AIDS pandemic and information on how AIDS/HIV is spread. Looking for more information on AIDS or HIV please visit the LAAN website or any of the Wikipedia information pages linked. If you would like to become involved in the World Aids Day activities this year, please contact the Director of Health and Safety.

Keychains

During the fall 2008 move in, residents received keychains as pictured to the right. Each keychain has important phone numbers, such as the MSU Police non-emergency phone number, East Lansing Police non-emergency number, CATA Night Owl, and S-Cabs. With your RHA keychain, you'll never search for those all-too-important numbers again. This service was primarily worked toward by the Director of Health and Safety for the 38th Session, Paula Wade.
